ARA CHO

     Born and Raised in Seoul, Ara Cho studied Visual Communication Design at Kookmin University in Seoul and Fashion Merchandising Management at FIT in NYC and POLIMODA in Firenze. Then, she has gained extensive work experience in fashion industry in NYC, and has launched a fashion brand ARA CHO specialized in handbags and small leather goods in Seoul since 2014. In recent years, she has also been deeply engaged in visual arts, working on leather sculptures, digital collage, installation and other form of art.

     ARA CHO is a contemporary handbag / accessories line, launched in 2014. The brand delivers artistic manner and touch with high quality leather goods based on creativity and functionality. ARA CHO embraces women and men especially who have world-wide perspectives enjoying travels and social life. They cherish cultural diversity and unique values around the world. ARA CHO는 자신의 시각예술 작품에서 영감을 얻은 디자인으로 가방을 만드는 아티스트 조아라의 컨템퍼러리 핸드백 브랜드입니다.

조아라는 ‘City Oasis’라는 주제를 다양한 매체로 표현하는 비주얼 아티스트입니다. 시티 오아시스는 도시에서 살아가는 동시대인의 쉼터, 정신적인 아지트를 의미합니다. 작품을 통해 위로와 공감, 치유를 전달하는 시티 오아시스라는 주제는 선인장이나 몬스테라와 같은 식물의 형태를 모티브로 합니다.

ARA CHO는 작품에서 영감을 얻은 디자인을 상품에 적용해 예술적인 감각이 살아있는 핸드백과 라이프스타일 소품을 장인정신이 느껴지는 핸드메이드 방식으로 제작합니다.

국민대학교에서 시각디자인을, 뉴욕 FIT와 피렌체 Polimoda에서 패션 머천다이징 매니지먼트를 전공한 조아라는 뉴욕에서 디자인, 프로덕션, 소싱 등 다양한 분야에서 쌓은 경험과 Creativity, Quality, Utility의 가치를 바탕으로 자신 만의 개성과 안목을 가진 고객의 눈높이에 맞춰 고품격 가죽 제품으로의 차별화를 추구합니다.
